- (4) 5/16" riv nuts
- (1) Riv nut tool
- (4) 5/16" x 2" hex head bolts
- (4) 5/16" split lock washers
- (4) 3/8" flat washers
- Drill
- 1/2" drill bit
- Sharpie
- Tape measure
- 1/2" socket & ratchet
- 1/2" open-end wrench
- 5/32" and 1/8" Allen wrenches
- Loosen the set screw on the plastic end cap at the cab end of the BEDTRAX rail. Remove the cap and insert (2) mount blocks into the track. Reinstall the end cap and tighten the set screw.
- These blocks will secure the corner towers in the next step
- Corner towers are shipped upside down and resting on the BEDTRAX.
- Remove plastic end caps at the rear (tailgate end).
- Insert (4) mount blocks down each side of the BEDTRAX.
- If equipped with guardrails, insert (6) mount blocks per side.
- Invert the corner tower and align it over the mount blocks.
- Secure using supplied 1/4"-20 x 3/4" Allen head bolts
- Slide one end of the head rail (slot facing forward) into the mounted corner tower.
- Adjust the mount block so the threaded hole aligns with the tower mounting hole and secure using the Allen head bolt
- Invert side towers (mount holes facing inward).
- Slide (2) mount blocks underneath each tower.
- Pre-install D-ring tie downs in front of and behind each side tower.
- Secure towers with supplied Allen bolts.
- Do not fully tighten yet.
- Insert (2) mount blocks into each guard rail.
- Slide guard rails into corner towers.
- Secure with Allen bolts.
- Insert side towers into guard rail ends and fasten.
- For proper appearance, allow approximately 6 inches of guard rail to extend past the side tower
- Thread the (4) D-ring tie downs into previously installed mount blocks. Position as desired and tighten.
- Reinstall plastic end caps and tighten set screws.
- The 1500 and 2000 models include a multi-frame system (inner frame, mid frame, and base frame) for extended travel.
- Fully extend the tray until it stops. Lift up and remove the inner frame and deck like a kitchen drawer. Set aside indoors
- Fully extend the mid frame until it stops, then lift and remove it like a drawer. Set aside
- Place the base frame (without ribs) into the truck bed.
- Center between wheel wells.
- Leave 1½ inches of clearance between the bulkhead and frame.
- Mark mounting hole locations using pre-punched holes on the cab-end and center cross member
- Drill through marked locations using a 1/2" drill bit.
- Install riv nuts using the supplied riv nut tool:
- Thread a 5/16" bolt into a riv nut using the tool.
- Insert assembly into hole.
- Tighten while holding tool steady to compress riv nut underneath.
- Install (6) riv nuts total.
- For 8' beds, use (8) riv nuts.
- Do not over-tighten.
- Do not use air impact tools
- Attach the (2) support plates at the tailgate end of the base frame.
- Orientation varies by vehicle:
- Ford models: Support plate offset from base frame
- All other models: Support plate flush with base frame
- Plates attach only to the base frame, not directly to the truck bed.
- Ensure the bottom edge of each plate sits flush with the truck bed surface
- Position mid frame back into the base frame and slide forward into place
- Position inner frame into mid frame and slide forward until fully locked
- Maintenance Tip: Apply silicone lubricant to the inner frame once per year for smooth operation
- Peel away protective film from tie-down rails.
- If lettering lifts, reposition and rub firmly with a card or hand to ensure proper adhesion
