Each B8 8100 shock features a remote or piggyback reservoir that houses the gas chamber, allowing the main shock body to dedicate more internal volume to suspension travel and oil capacity. This design improves cooling, enhances wheel travel, and maintains reliable performance across a wide range of terrain conditions.

Bilstein also equips the 8100 series with a 60mm digressive piston and velocity-sensitive valving, providing responsive suspension control without sacrificing ride comfort. The shocks include billet components, an 18mm hardened piston rod, and rebuildable construction, making them suitable for serious off-road builds and lifted trucks.
