The Switchback® headache rack is set apart with its highly unique design. The angular construction and punched mesh center section give it an aggressive, aftermarket look on modern trucks. Each model is designed to be a custom headache rack for a particular truck application, allowing the lines to contour to the truck cab. This model is built for a custom fit on specific years of the Ram 1500, 2500 or 3500 and Dodge Ram 1500, 2500 or 3500 (see application information to verify fitment with your truck).
To give it the bold strength to go anywhere the trail may take you, the Switchback® pickup headache rack is constructed from aluminum alloy. Aluminum ensures a lightweight design to keep cumbersome weight off your offroad truck, and it provides the best defense against the elements. To maximize corrosion resistance, this aluminum headache rack is also shielded in a highly durable carbide black powder coat finish. This not only protects against rain, snow, road salt and grime, but it also resists UV rays and damage from small debris.
The stamped octagonal mesh, angular design and aluminum build of the Switchback® truck headache rack also make it an excellent complement to the ARIES AdvantEDGE™ series. Both the Aries bull bar and AdvantEDGE™ side bars feature the same aggressive, octagonal look and long-lasting, powder-coated aluminum construction that are geared for the modern pickup truck. The Switchback® truck headache rack makes customizing your offroad ride easy. It features a slotted top edge, spanning the entire length of the rack. These slots readily accept aftermarket LED light bars or work lights for added functionality in the truck bed or for making your truck stand out even more. Three 10" LED light bars #1501260 are recommended. The lights can be positioned and adjusted as needed, using the full-length slotted edge.
The Switchback® headache rack can also accept a variety of other headache rack accessories, including ARIES light mounting brackets #1110311 for the mesh center section or tie-down anchors along the top edge.
A truck headache rack with lights is nothing without the safety of the existing vehicle lights. That is why the Switchback® features an integrated cutout for the third brake light. It is also equipped with a removable center section, allowing you to install the headache rack without the mesh center. This opens up access to the rear window for use as needed.
Each Switchback® custom headache rack comes equipped with a patented stake pocket anchoring system for the easiest and most secure installation possible. The anchors simply drop into the stake pockets built into the truck bed walls and are secured with heavy-duty bolts on each side. There is no drilling or tedious modification required. The headache rack is also designed with a three-piece knock-down assembly, making it easy to ship and simple to install.
