ULTRAGROOVE Electric FAQ's

How does the ULTRAGROOVE Electric work?
  • The UltraGroove Electric is powered by an electric motor in the canister that opens and closes the cover along rails fastened to the truck bed. It's powered by either a key fob remote control or smart phone app. In case of loss of power, there's a manual release lever that can operate the cover.
What is the UltraGroove Electric made of?
  • The UltraGroove Electric is manufactured with heavy gauge extruded aluminum panels powder coated in a black textured finish for increased strength and durability. The panels are fastened together with a silicone hinge seal.
Will the cover keep the truck bed dry? What about ice and snow?
  • The UltraGroove Electric is designed so that water collected on the top of the cover is channeled to the canister.
  • Drain tubes, located at both the front and rear of the cover direct water away from the truck to help keep the truck bed dry. Water doesn't pass through the silicone hinge sealed top; it may intrude into the bed via components that are not part of the cover such as the tailgate, stake pockets, etc.
  • These components require proper sealing during installation. Our products are designed for reliable weather resistance.
  • Snow should be swept off the cover with a broom before operating the cover, otherwise the snow will end up in the truck bed and the canister box. When ice is present, use your hand to slap the cover as close to the middle as possible to create a vibration that will break up the ice. Do not use anything but your hand for this.

Can a garage door opener operate my cover?
  • The UltraGroove Electric uses a rolling code to secure your cover. This gives you approximately 7 million random codes that change each time you push the button. It's unlikely that a random garage door opener could open your cover.
