Step-by-Step Installation

Step 1: Identify Mounting Locations

  • Locate the factory mounting points along the rocker panel underneath the cab. These will correspond to the front, center, and rear bracket positions.
  • You'll install three brackets per side:
    • Front support
    • Center support
    • Rear support
  • The same procedure applies to both the driver and passenger sides.

Step 2: Install the Support Brackets

  • Position the correct bracket (left or right) at the first mounting location.
  • Using the supplied hardware:
    • Insert the M8 bolt with flat washer
    • Secure with flat washer and hex nut
    • Leave hardware slightly loose for adjustment
    • Repeat for the remaining two bracket locations on that side.
    • Important: Do not fully tighten hardware until the running board is mounted and aligned.
  • Torque specification for final tightening:
    • 25 Nm (18.5 lb-ft)

Step 3: Attach the Running Board to the Brackets

  • Lift the running board into position and align it with the three installed supports.
  • Secure the board to each bracket using:
  • M8 bolts
  • Flat washers
  • Hex nuts
  • Start all hardware by hand before tightening.

Step 4: Align the Board

  • Before tightening:
    • Ensure the board is level
    • Confirm even spacing from front to rear
    • Verify proper alignment with cab body lines
    • Once satisfied with positioning, tighten all hardware to:
    • 25 Nm (18.5 lb-ft)

Step 5: Repeat on Opposite Side

  • Repeat Steps 1–4 for the opposite side of the vehicle.
  • The installation procedure is identical for both sides.

Final Installation Check
  • All brackets securely mounted
  • Running board level and centered
  • Hardware tightened to 25 Nm (18.5 lb-ft)
  • No movement or play in board
Your LEER Running Boards are now ready for use.
