How Do I Get Information About SnugTop Products?

There are three ways to get information about SNUGTOP products:

  1. Our website provides product information, availability, dealer locations, and more.
  2. Your local SNUGTOP dealer can provide the latest brochures and help you choose the right products. Check our dealer locator.
  3. You may also request a brochure by emailing 4info@snugtop.com. Please include your name, address, contact phone number, the SNUGTOP products you are interested in, and your truck make, model, and year.
Can I Purchase SnugTop Products Directly From The Factory?

Products are not sold directly from the SNUGTOP factory. Your local SNUGTOP dealer should be your first stop when considering a SNUGTOP product. They can help you choose the best product for your needs and provide pricing and delivery details.

Do I Have To Drill Holes Into My Truck?

No. SNUGTOP products do not require drilling holes in your truck for lids or caps. The SNUGrip unique one-piece mounting system allows no-drill mounting of the SnugLid tonneau cover to the truck bed. Heavy-duty aluminum brackets clamp onto the bed rails, eliminating the need to drill holes. SNUGTOP truck caps use a clamp-retain system for mounting to the truck.

Can I Remove My Lid Or Cap Easily?

Although SNUGTOP products are securely attached to the truck, they can be removed if needed without damaging the vehicle. Truck caps require at least four people to lift the cap off and a minimal amount of tools. A tonneau cover can be removed by two people and requires no tools. Each process typically takes about 30 minutes.

Will My SnugTop Affect My Fuel Mileage?

SNUGTOP previously asked a third party to test its products and reported that full-size trucks with covered beds improved fuel mileage by 10%, whether equipped with a truck cap or tonneau cover.

What Makes SnugTop Products Stand Out?

SNUGTOP truck caps and tonneau covers are built specifically for each compatible truck model, combining custom fit, premium construction, and a craftsman-like finish.

  • DuPont ChromaPremier basecoat and clearcoat paint
  • Lifetime warranty for paint and structure
  • Smooth-finished edges
  • Two-point locking system with stainless steel locks
  • Lid overlap at the tailgate for added security
  • Integrated stainless steel hinges
  • One-inch-thick honeycomb-reinforced construction

How Much Do Truck Caps And Tonneau Covers Weigh?

Weight depends on the product and can vary based on accessories, options, truck size, and the specific model selected.

How Much Weight Can SnugTop Truck Caps And Tonneau Covers Hold?

A truck cap can typically handle approximately 150–175 lbs. Tonneau covers typically hold about 75 lbs. The SNUGPRO with rack has been tested up to 500 lbs.

How Secure Are SnugTop Truck Caps And Tonneau Covers?

SNUGTOP products are designed with secure locking systems. SnugLids use rotary latch systems for added security, and SNUGTOP truck caps use similar technology. Tonneau covers and shells also overlap and help secure the truck tailgate.

Are SnugTop Products Waterproof?

SNUGTOP truck caps and tonneau covers are weather resistant, not weatherproof. Features such as the double-bubble rubber seal help direct water away from the interior of the truck bed, but appropriate precautions should still be taken with valuable items stored inside.

How Do I Get Service For My SnugTop?

Both warranty and out-of-warranty service are provided exclusively by SNUGTOP dealers. Please use the dealer locator to find the dealer nearest you.

What Maintenance Does My SnugTop Need?

Your SNUGTOP can provide years of service when properly maintained.

  • Wax painted surfaces every four to six weeks with a high-quality car or boat wax. Wait approximately 30 days after purchase before waxing to allow the finish to cure.
  • Keep the area between the rubber collar and the back of the truck cab free of dust and dirt. A damp cloth can be used from inside the shell to wipe this area regularly.

CAUTION: Improper tightening of J-hooks or mounting hardware may result in excessive shell movement and paint wear where the rubber seals contact the truck.

Contact your dealer regarding products that may help protect truck surfaces against scuffing or chafing.

What Does The SnugTop Warranty Cover?

SNUGTOP offers a lifetime structural and paint warranty on its truck caps and tonneau covers. For complete warranty information or clarification about your specific product, review the applicable warranty documentation or contact your local SNUGTOP dealer.

Will My SnugTop Truck Cap Fit Other Truck Makes Or Models?

We do not recommend using a truck cap or lid designed for one truck model on another model. In some cases, the same truck cap or tonneau cover may fit a different model year of the same truck body style. Check the current model availability information before attempting a transfer.
